*दक्षिणोत्तरतो +अप्य् एवम् पातो *राहुः स्वरम्हसा । (C दक्षिणोत्तरयोर्, राहुश् च रम्हसा) विक्षिपत्य् एष विक्षेपम् चन्द्रादीनाम् अपक्रमात् ॥

In the same way, the Deity node named Ráhu by its power deflects the planet, such as the Moon, to the north or to the south from (the end of) the declination (of its corresponding point at the ecliptic). This deflection is called Vikshepa (celestial latitude).

*dakSiNottarato +apy evam pAto *rAhuH svaramhasA । (C dakSiNottarayor, rAhuz ca ramhasA) vikSipaty eSa vikSepam candrAdInAm apakramAt ॥
