तस्मै वेदान् वरान् दत्त्वा सर्वलोकपितामहम् । प्रतिष्ठाप्याण्डमध्ये +अथ स्वयम् पर्येति भावयन्॥
Bestowing upon him (Brahmä) the scriptures (Vedas) as gifts, and establishing him within the egg as grandfather of all worlds, he (the sun) himself then revolves, creating existence.
english translation
अथ सृष्ट्याम् मनश् चक्रे ब्रह्माहङ्कारमूर्तिभृत् । मनसश् चन्द्रमा जज्ञे सूर्यो +अक्ष्णोस् तेजसाम् निधिः॥
Then Brahmä, being the form of principle of consciousness (ahankara), wanting to create, created the moon from his mind and from the light of his eyes created the sun (Sürya), the repository of light.
english translation
मनसः खम् ततो वायुर् अग्निर् आपो धरा क्रमात् । गुणैकवृद्ध्या पञ्चैव महाभूतानि जज्ञिरे॥
From His mind, first He created the empty space (shunya), later in succession He created wind, fire, water, earth—these five elements (mahabhuta) by successive addition of one attribute at a time.
english translation
अग्नीषोमौ भानुचन्द्रौ ततस् त्व् अङ्गारकादयः। तेजोभूखाम्बुवातेभ्यः क्रमशः पञ्च जज्ञिरे॥
First the sun and the moon as fire (agni) and soma were created, later, the five planets such as Mars, etc. were created in succession from radiance, earth, sky, water, wind.
english translation
पुनर् द्वादशधात्मानम् व्यभजद् राशिसञ्ज्ञकम् । नक्षत्ररूपिणम् भूयः सप्तविम्शात्मकम् वशी॥
Brahmä, the self-restrained one (vaçi), again divided his mind-induced sphere into twelve parts as the räçis and still again divided it into 27 divisions as the constellation of stars (nakshatra).
