ततश् चराचरम् विश्वम् निर्ममे देवपूर्वकम् । ऊर्ध्वमध्याधरेभ्यो +अथ स्रोतोभ्यः प्रकृतीः सृजन्॥
After having created characteristics (prakåiti) such as superior and inferior, he created the demigods, human beings and the entire animate and inanimate (cäräcara) universe.
english translation
गुणकर्मविभागेन सृष्ट्वा प्राग्वद् अनुक्रमात् । विभागम् कल्पयामास यथास्वम् वेददर्शनात् ॥
Having created the divisions according to (their) functions and characteristics successively as stated before, (he) made the divisions according to the rules stated in the Vedas.
english translation
ग्रहनक्षत्रतारानाम् भूमेर् विश्वस्य वा विभुः। देवासुरमनुष्याणाम् सिद्धानाम् च यथाक्रमम्॥
Brahmä, endowed with attributes like aëimä etc., assigned the stars, planets, earth, the universe— including the demigods, demons and the perfected ones (siddhas), to be situated in their respective places in order.

ब्रह्माण्डम् एतत् सुषिरम् तत्रेदम् भूर्भुवादिकम् । कटाहद्वितयस्येव सम्पुटम् गोलकाकृति। ॥
The Brahmä-egg (Brahmända) is hollow in the form of sphere, like a vessel made of a pair of caldrons. At the center is located the earth, sky etc.

ब्रह्माण्डमध्ये परिधिर् व्योमकक्षाभिधीयते । तन्मध्ये भ्रमणम् भानाम् अधो +अधः क्रमशस् तथा॥
The middle inner circumference of the Brahmäëòa is called (vyomakakshä) or the spatial orbit where the constellations revolve. Below that, revolve, in order -
