अतीत्योन्मीलनाद् इन्दोः पश्चात् तद्गणितागतात्।(C अतीत्योन्मीलनाद् इन्दोर् दृक्सिद्धिर् गणितागतात्।) यदा भवेत् तदा प्राच्याम् स्वस्थानम् मध्यतो भवेत् ॥

sanskrit

At the given place if the Moon's total darkness (in her eclipse) begins or ends after the instant when it begins or ends at the Middle Line of the Earth, then the given place is east of the Middle Line -

english translation

atItyonmIlanAd indoH pazcAt tadgaNitAgatAt।(C atItyonmIlanAd indor dRksiddhir gaNitAgatAt।) yadA bhavet tadA prAcyAm svasthAnam madhyato bhavet ॥
