एकस्तपस्व्यहमथाम्भसि मत्स्यसङ्गात्पञ्चाशदासमुत पञ्चसहस्रसर्गः । नान्तं व्रजाम्युभयकृत्यमनोरथानां मायागुणैर्हृतमतिर्विषयेऽर्थभावः ।। ९-६-५२ ।।

In the beginning I was alone and engaged in performing the austerities of mystic yoga, but later, because of the association of fish engaged in sex, I desired to marry. Then I became the husband of fifty wives, and in each of them I begot one hundred sons, and thus my family increased to five thousand members. By the influence of the modes of material nature, I became fallen and thought that I would be happy in material life. Thus there is no end to my material desires for enjoyment, in this life and the next. ।। 9-6-52 ।।

english translation

शुरू में मैं अकेला था और योग की तपस्या करता रहता था, किन्तु बाद में मैथुनरत मछली की संगति के कारण मुझमें विवाह करने की इच्छा जगी। तब मैं पचास पत्नियों का पति बन गया और हर एक ने एक एक सौ पुत्र उत्पन्न किये। इस तरह मेरे परिवार में पाँच हजार सदस्य हो गये। प्रकृति के गुणों से प्रभावित होकर मेरा पतन हुआ और मैंने सोचा कि भौतिक जीवन में मैं सुखी रहूँगा। इस तरह इस जीवन तथा अगले जीवन में भोग के लिए मेरी इच्छाओं का कोई अन्त नहीं है। ।। ९-६-५२ ।।
