तेषां ज्येष्ठो वीतिहोत्रो वृष्णिः पुत्रो मधोः स्मृतः । तस्य पुत्रशतं त्वासीद्वृष्णिज्येष्ठं यतः कुलम् ।। ९-२३-२९ ।।

sanskrit

Of the sons of Tālajaṅgha, Vītihotra was the eldest. The son of Vītihotra named Madhu had a celebrated son named Vṛṣṇi. Madhu had one hundred sons, of whom Vṛṣṇi was the eldest. The dynasties known as Yādava, Mādhava and Vṛṣṇi had their origin from Yadu, Madhu and Vṛṣṇi. ।। 9-23-29 ।।

english translation

तालजंघ के पुत्रों में से वीतिहोत्र सबसे बड़ा था। वीतिहोत्र का पुत्र मधु था जिसका पुत्र वृष्णि विख्यात था। मधु के एक सौ पुत्र हुए जिनमें वृष्णि सबसे बड़ा था। यादव, माधव तथा वृष्णि नामक वंशों का उद्गम यदु, मधु तथा वृष्णि से हुआ। ।। ९-२३-२९ ।।
