दुष्यन्तो मृगयां यातः कण्वाश्रमपदं गतः । तत्रासीनां स्वप्रभया मण्डयन्तीं रमामिव ॥ ९-२०-८ ॥
Once when King Duṣmanta went to the forest to hunt and was very much fatigued, he approached the residence of Kaṇva Muni. There he saw a most beautiful woman who looked exactly like the goddess of fortune ॥ 9-20-8 ॥

एक बार जब राजा दुष्मन्त शिकार करने जंगल गया और अत्यधिक थक गया तो वह महाराज कण्व के आश्रम में जा पहुँचा। वहाँ उसने एक अत्यन्त सुन्दर स्त्री देखी जो लक्ष्मी जी के समान लग रही थी ॥ ९-२०-८ ॥
