इत्युक्तस्तन्मतं ज्ञात्वा गतः स वरुणान्तिकम् । आनीय दत्त्वा तानश्वानुपयेमे वराननाम् ॥ ९-१५-७ ॥
When King Gādhi made this demand, the great sage Ṛcīka could understand the King’s mind. Therefore he went to the demigod Varuṇa and brought from him the one thousand horses that Gādhi had demanded. After delivering these horses, the sage married the King’s beautiful daughter. ॥ 9-15-7 ॥

जब राजा गाधि ने यह माँग पेश की तो महर्षि ऋचीक को राजा के मन की बात समझ में आ गई। अतएव वह वरुणदेव के पास गया और वहाँ से गाधि द्वारा माँगे गये एक हजार घोड़े ले आया। इन घोड़ों को भेंट करके मुनि ने राजा की सुन्दर पुत्री के साथ विवाह कर लिया। ॥ ९-१५-७ ॥
