तस्यैव व्यासमिच्छामि ज्ञातुं ते भगवन् यथा । अनुसर्गं यया शक्त्या ससर्ज भगवान् परः ॥ ६-४-२ ॥
You have spoken about this creation briefly [in the Third Canto]. Now I wish to know about it elaborately. I also wish to know about the potency of the Supreme Personality of Godhead by which He brought about the secondary creation. ॥ 6-4-2 ॥

आपने इस सृष्टि के विषय में संक्षेप में (तृतीय स्कन्ध में) कहा है। अब मैं इसके विषय में विस्तार से जानना चाहता हूँ। मैं भगवान् की उस शक्ति के विषय में भी जानना चाहता हूँ जिससे उन्होंने गौण सृष्टि की। ॥ ६-४-२ ॥
