तैस्तान्यघानि पूयन्ते तपोदानजपादिभिः । नाधर्मजं तद्धृदयं तदपीशाङ्घ्रिसेवया ।। ६-२-१७ ।।

sanskrit

Although one may neutralize the reactions of sinful life through austerity, charity, vows and other such methods, these pious activities cannot uproot the material desires in one’s heart. However, if one serves the lotus feet of the Personality of Godhead, he is immediately freed from all such contaminations. ।। 6-2-17 ।।

english translation

यद्यपि तपस्या, दान, व्रत तथा अन्य विधियों से पापमय जीवन के फलों का निरसन किया जा सकता है, किन्तु ये पुण्यकर्म किसी के हृदय की भौतिक इच्छाओं का उन्मूलन नहीं कर सकते। किन्तु यदि वह भगवान् के चरणकमलों की सेवा करता है, तो वह तुरन्त ही ऐसे सारे कल्मषों से मुक्त कर दिया जाता है। ।। ६-२-१७ ।।
