अहं वै सर्वभूतानि भूतात्मा भूतभावनः । शब्दब्रह्म परं ब्रह्म ममोभे शाश्वती तनू ।। ६-१६-५१ ।।

All living entities, moving and nonmoving, are My expansions and are separate from Me. I am the Supersoul of all living beings, who exist because I manifest them. I am the form of the transcendental vibrations like oṁkāra and Hare Kṛṣṇa Hare Rāma, and I am the Supreme Absolute Truth. These two forms of Mine — namely, the transcendental sound and the eternally blissful spiritual form of the Deity, are My eternal forms; they are not material. ।। 6-16-51 ।।

english translation

समस्त चर तथा अचर जीवात्माएँ मेरे ही प्रकाश (विस्तार) हैं और मुझसे पृथक् हैं। मैं ही समस्त जीवों का परमात्मा हूँ; मेरे प्रकाशित करने के ही कारण उनका अस्तित्व है। मैं ही ऊँकार तथा हरे कृष्ण हरे राम मंत्र जैसे दिव्य शब्दों का रूप हूँ और मैं ही परम सत्य हूँ। ये दोनों रूप—दिव्य शब्द तथा श्रीविग्रह का शाश्वत आनन्दमय दिव्य रूप—मेरे शाश्वत रूप हैं, वे भौतिक नहीं हैं। ।। ६-१६-५१ ।।

लोके विततमात्मानं लोकं चात्मनि सन्ततम् । उभयं च मया व्याप्तं मयि चैवोभयं कृतम् ।। ६-१६-५२ ।।

In this world of matter, which the conditioned soul accepts as consisting of enjoyable resources, the conditioned soul expands, thinking that he is the enjoyer of the material world. Similarly, the material world expands in the living entity as a source of enjoyment. In this way they both expand, but because they are My energies, they are both pervaded by Me. As the Supreme Lord, I am the cause of these effects, and one should know that both of them rest in Me. ।। 6-16-52 ।।

english translation

बद्धजीव इस भौतिक जगत में, जिसे वह सुख के साधनों से भरा हुआ समझता है, यह सोचकर विस्तार करता है कि वही इस जगत का भोक्ता है। इसी प्रकार यह भौतिक जगत जीवात्मा के सुख के साधनस्वरूप विस्तार करता है। इस प्रकार दोनों ही विस्तार करते हैं, किन्तु दोनों ही मेरी शक्तियाँ होने के कारण मुझसे युक्त हैं। परमेश्वर होने के कारण मैं इन फलों का कारण हूँ और मनुष्य को यह जानना चाहिए कि ये दोनों ही मुझमें व्याप्त हैं। ।। ६-१६-५२ ।।

loke vitatamAtmAnaM lokaM cAtmani santatam | ubhayaM ca mayA vyAptaM mayi caivobhayaM kRtam || 6-16-52 ||

यथा सुषुप्तः पुरुषो विश्वं पश्यति चात्मनि । आत्मानमेकदेशस्थं मन्यते स्वप्न उत्थितः ।। ६-१६-५३ ।।

When a person is in deep sleep, he dreams and sees in himself many other objects, such as great mountains and rivers or perhaps even the entire universe, although they are far away. Sometimes when one awakens from a dream he sees that he is in a human form, lying in his bed in one place. ।। 6-16-53 ।।

english translation

जब मनुष्य गाढ़ निद्रा में होता है, तो वह स्वप्न देखता है और अपने अन्तर में विशाल पर्वत तथा नदियाँ या सम्भवत: सम्पूर्ण ब्रह्माण्ड को भी देखता है, यद्यपि ये सारी वस्तुएँ अत्यन्त दूर हैं। किन्तु कभी कभी जब वह स्वप्न से जगता है, तो अपने को मनुष्य रूप में एक स्थान पर बिस्तर पर लेटा पाता है। ।। ६-१६-५३ ।।

एवं जागरणादीनि जीवस्थानानि चात्मनः । मायामात्राणि विज्ञाय तद्द्रष्टारं परं स्मरेत् ।। ६-१६-५४ ।।

Then he sees himself, in terms of various conditions, as belonging to a particular nationality, family and so on. All the conditions of deep sleep, dreaming and wakefulness are but energies of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. One should always remember the original creator of these conditions, the Supreme Lord, who is unaffected by them. ।। 6-16-54 ।।

english translation

तब वह अपने को अनेक स्थितियों में पाता है यथा विशेष राष्ट्रीयता, परिवार आदि में। प्रगाढ़-निद्रा, स्वप्न तथा जाग्रत ये समस्त अवस्थाएँ भगवान् की ही शक्तियाँ हैं। मनुष्य को इन अवस्थाओं के मूल स्रष्टा को, जो इनसे प्रभावित नहीं होता, सदैव स्मरण रखना चाहिए। ।। ६-१६-५४ ।।

येन प्रसुप्तः पुरुषः स्वापं वेदात्मनस्तदा । सुखं च निर्गुणं ब्रह्म तमात्मानमवेहि माम् ।। ६-१६-५५ ।।

Know Me to be the Supreme Brahman, the all-pervading Supersoul through whom the sleeping living entity can understand his dreaming condition and his happiness beyond the activities of the material senses. That is to say, I am the cause of the activities of the sleeping living being. ।। 6-16-55 ।।

english translation

तुम मुझे परब्रह्म जानो, जो सर्वव्यापी परमात्मा है और जिसके माध्यम से सुप्त जीवात्मा अपनी सुप्तावस्था तथा इन्द्रियातीत सुखों का अनुभव कर सकता है। कहने का तात्पर्य यह है। कि सुप्त जीवात्माओं की गतिविधियों का कारण मैं ही हूँ। ।। ६-१६-५५ ।।
