ततो युगान्ताग्निकठोरजिह्वमाविध्य शूलं तरसासुरेन्द्रः । क्षिप्त्वा महेन्द्राय विनद्य वीरो हतोऽसि पापेति रुषा जगाद ॥ ६-१२-२ ॥
Then Vṛtrāsura, the great hero of the demons, whirled his trident, which had points like the flames of the blazing fire at the end of the millennium. With great force and anger he threw it at Indra, roaring and exclaiming loudly, “O sinful one, thus shall I kill you!” ॥ 6-12-2 ॥
english translation
तब असुरों में महान् वीर वृत्रासुर ने कल्पान्त (प्रलय) की धधकती अग्नि की लपटों के समान तीखी नोकों वाले त्रिशूल को अत्यन्त क्रोध एवं वेग से इन्द्र पर चला दिया। उसने गरजकर कहा, “अरे पापी, मैं तेरा वध किये देता हूँ।” ॥ ६-१२-२ ॥
