ये त्विह वा अन्धावटकुसूलगुहादिषु भूतानि निरुन्धन्ति तथामुत्र तेष्वेवोपवेश्य सगरेण वह्निना धूमेन निरुन्धन्ति ।। ५-२६-३४ ।।

sanskrit

Those who in this life confine other living entities in dark wells, granaries or mountain caves are put after death into the hell known as Avaṭa-nirodhana. There they themselves are pushed into dark wells, where poisonous fumes and smoke suffocate them and they suffer very severely. ।। 5-26-34 ।।

english translation

जो व्यक्ति इस जीवन में अन्य जीवों को अन्धे कुएँ, खत्ती या पर्वत की गुफाओं में बन्दी बनाकर रखते हैं, वे मृत्यु के पश्चात् अवट-निरोधन नामक नरक में रखे जाते हैं। वहाँ वे स्वयं अंधे कुओं में धकेल दिये जाते हैं, जहाँ विषैले धुएँ से उनका दम घुटता है और वे घोर यातनाएँ उठाते हैं। ।। ५-२६-३४ ।।
