यावद्दक्षिणायनमहानि वर्धन्ते यावदुदगयनं रात्रयः ॥ ५-२१-६ ॥

Until the sun travels to the south the days grow longer, and until it travels to the north the nights grow longer. ॥ 5-21-6 ॥

english translation

सूर्य के दक्षिणायन होने तक दिन बढ़ते रहते हैं और उत्तरायण होने तक रातें लम्बी होती जाती हैं। ‌॥ ५-२१-६ ॥

yAvaddakSiNAyanamahAni vardhante yAvadudagayanaM rAtrayaH ॥ 5-21-6 ॥
