अतीव सुललितगतिविलासविलसितरुचिरहास- लेशावलोकलीलया किञ्चिदुत्तम्भितसुन्दरभ्रूमण्डल- सुभगवदनारविन्दश्रिया रमां रमयन्निन्द्रियाणि रमयते ॥ ५-१८-१६ ॥
In Ketumāla-varṣa, Lord Kāmadeva [Pradyumna] moves very graciously. His mild smile is very beautiful, and when He increases the beauty of His face by slightly raising His eyebrows and glancing playfully, He pleases the goddess of fortune. Thus He enjoys His transcendental senses. ॥ 5-18-16 ॥

केतुमालवर्ष में भगवान् कामदेव (प्रद्युम्न) अत्यन्त लालित्य पूर्ण चाल से चलते हैं। उनकी मन्द मुसकान मनोहर है और जब वे अपनी भृकुटियों को किंचित ऊपर उठा कर लीलापूर्वक देखते हैं, तो उनके मुख की सुन्दरता बढ़ जाती हैं और वे लक्ष्मीजी को आनन्दित करते हैं। इस प्रकार वे अपनी दिव्य इन्द्रियों का आनन्द लेते हैं। ॥ ५-१८-१६ ॥

तद्भगवतो मायामयं रूपं परमसमाधियोगेन रमादेवी संवत्सरस्य रात्रिषु प्रजापतेर्दुहितृभिरुपेताहःसु च तद्भर्तृभिरुपास्ते इदं चोदाहरति ॥ ५-१८-१७ ॥
Accompanied during the daytime by the sons of the Prajāpati [the predominating deities of the days] and accompanied at night by his daughters [the deities of the nights], Lakṣmīdevī worships the Lord during the period known as the Saṁvatsara in His most merciful form as Kāmadeva. Fully absorbed in devotional service, she chants the following mantras. ॥ 5-18-17 ॥

लक्ष्मीजी संवत्सर की अवधि में दिन के समय प्रजापति के पुत्रों के साथ और रात्रि में उनकी पुत्रियों के साथ मिलकर परम दयालु कामदेव रूप में भगवान् की पूजा करती हैं। भक्ति में तल्लीन रहकर लक्ष्मीजी निम्नलिखित मंत्रों का जप करती हैं। ॥ ५-१८-१७ ॥

ओं ह्रां ह्रीं ह्रूं ओं नमो भगवते हृषीकेशाय सर्वगुणविशेषैर्विलक्षितात्मने आकूतीनां चित्तीनां चेतसां विशेषाणां चाधिपतये षोडशकलाय च्छन्दोमयायान्नमयायामृतमयाय सर्वमयाय सहसे ओजसे बलाय कान्ताय कामाय नमस्ते उभयत्र भूयात् ॥ ५-१८-१८ ॥
Let me offer my respectful obeisances unto the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Hṛṣīkeśa, the controller of all my senses and the origin of everything. As the supreme master of all bodily, mental and intellectual activities, He is the only enjoyer of their results. The five sense objects and eleven senses, including the mind, are His partial manifestations. He supplies all the necessities of life, which are His energy and thus nondifferent from Him, and He is the cause of everyone’s bodily and mental prowess, which is also nondifferent from Him. Indeed, He is the husband and provider of necessities for all living entities. The purpose of all the Vedas is to worship Him. Therefore let us all offer Him our respectful obeisances. May He always be favorable toward us in this life and the next. ॥ 5-18-18 ॥

मेरी समस्त इन्द्रियों के नियन्ता तथा समस्त वस्तुओं की उत्पत्ति के स्तोत्र भगवान् हृषीकेश को मेरा नमस्कार है। वे समस्त दैहिक, मानसिक तथा बौद्धिक कर्मों के अधीश्वर और उनके फलों के एकमात्र भोक्ता हैं। पाँचों इन्द्रियों के विषय तथा मन समेत ग्यारह इन्द्रियाँ उनकी आंशिक अभिव्यक्तियाँ हैं। वे समस्त आवश्यकताओं की पूर्ति करने वाले हैं, जो उनकी शक्तिस्वरूपा होने के कारण उनसे अभिन्न हैं; वे प्रत्येक व्यक्ति की दैहिक और मानसिक शक्ति के कारण रूप हैं, जो उनसे अभिन्न हैं। दरअसल, वे समस्त जीवात्माओं की आवश्यकताओं की पूर्ति करने वाले तथा उनके भर्ता हैं। समस्त वेदों का ध्येय उनकी उपासना है। अत: हम सभी उन्हें सविनय नमस्कार करते हैं। वे इस जन्म में तथा अगले जन्म में सदा हमारे अनुकूल रहें। ॥ ५-१८-१८ ॥

स्त्रियो व्रतैस्त्वा हृषीकेश्वरं स्वतो ह्याराध्य लोके पतिमाशासतेऽन्यम् । तासां न ते वै परिपान्त्यपत्यं प्रियं धनायूंषि यतोऽस्वतन्त्राः ॥ ५-१८-१९ ॥
My dear Lord, You are certainly the fully independent master of all the senses. Therefore all women who worship You by strictly observing vows because they wish to acquire a husband to satisfy their senses are surely under illusion. They do not know that such a husband cannot actually give protection to them or their children. Nor can he protect their wealth or duration of life, for he himself is dependent on time, fruitive results and the modes of nature, which are all subordinate to You. ॥ 5-18-19 ॥

हे प्रभो, आप निश्चित रूप से समस्त इन्द्रियों के पूर्ण रूप से स्वतंत्र स्वामी हैं। अत: समस्त स्त्रियाँ जो अपनी इन्द्रियतृप्ति के लिए पति को पाने की कामना से संकल्पों का दृढ़पालन करके आपकी उपासना करती हैं, वे अवश्य ही मोहग्रस्त हैं। वे यह नहीं जानती कि ऐसा पति न तो उनकी और न ही उनकी सन्तानों की रक्षा कर सकता है। वह स्वयं ही काल, कर्मफल तथा प्रकृति-गुणों के अधीन है जो सब आपके अधीनस्थ हैं, अत: वह न तो सम्पत्ति की रक्षा कर सकता है और न अपने सन्तानों की। ॥ ५-१८-१९ ॥

स वै पतिः स्यादकुतोभयः स्वयं समन्ततः पाति भयातुरं जनम् । स एक एवेतरथा मिथो भयं नैवात्मलाभादधि मन्यते परम् ॥ ५-१८-२० ॥
He alone who is never afraid but who, on the contrary, gives complete shelter to all fearful persons can actually become a husband and protector. Therefore, my Lord, You are the only husband, and no one else can claim this position. If You were not the only husband, You would be afraid of others. Therefore persons learned in all Vedic literature accept only Your Lordship as everyone’s master, and they think no one else a better husband and protector than You. ॥ 5-18-20 ॥

जो स्वयं निर्भय है तथा जो सभी भयभीत व्यक्तियों को शरण प्रदान करता है, केवल वही वास्तव में पति तथा रक्षक हो सकता है। अत:, हे प्रभो, आप ही एकमात्र पति हैं, कोई अन्य इस पद का भागी नहीं हो सकता। यदि आप एकमात्र पति न होते तो आप भी अन्यों से डरते। अत: वेदों के पारंगत व्यक्ति आपको ही प्रत्येक का स्वामी स्वीकार करते हैं और यह मानते हैं कि आपसे बढक़र कोई अन्य पति एवं रक्षक नहीं है। ॥ ५-१८-२० ॥
