तं नारदः प्रियतमो रिक्थादानामनुव्रतः । शुश्रूषमाणः शीलेन प्रश्रयेण दमेन च ।। २-९-४० ।।

Nārada, the most dear of the inheritor sons of Brahmā, always ready to serve his father, strictly follows the instructions of his father by his mannerly behavior, meekness and sense control. ।। 2-9-40 ।।

english translation

ब्रह्मा के उत्तराधिकारी पुत्रों में सर्वाधिक प्रिय नारद अपने पिता की सेवा के लिए सदैव तत्पर रहते हैं और अपने पिता के उपदेशों का अत्यन्त संयम, विनय तथा सौम्यता से पालन करते हैं। ।। २-९-४० ।।
