बाहवो लोकपालानां प्रायशः क्षेमकर्मणाम् ।। २-६-६ ।।

sanskrit

The Lord’s arms are the productive fields for the great demigods and other leaders of the living entities who protect the general mass. ।। 2-6-6 ।।

english translation

भगवान् की भुजाएँ बड़े-बड़े देवताओं तथा जनसामान्य की रक्षा करनेवाले अन्य नायकों के उद्गम-स्थल हैं। ।। २-६-६ ।।

विक्रमो भूर्भुवः स्वश्च क्षेमस्य शरणस्य च । सर्वकामवरस्यापि हरेश्चरण आस्पदम् ।। २-६-७ ।।

sanskrit

Thus the forward steps of the Lord are the shelter for the upper, lower and heavenly planets, as well as for all that we need. His lotus feet serve as protection from all kinds of fear. ।। 2-6-7 ।।

english translation

भगवान् के अगले डग ऊर्ध्व, अधो तथा स्वर्गलोकों के एवं हमें जो भी चाहिए, उसके आश्रय हैं। उनके चरणकमल सभी प्रकार के भय के लिए सुरक्षा का काम करते हैं। ।। २-६-७ ।।

अपां वीर्यस्य सर्गस्य पर्जन्यस्य प्रजापतेः । पुंसः शिश्न उपस्थस्तु प्रजात्यानन्दनिर्वृतेः ।। २-६-८ ।।

sanskrit

From the Lord’s genitals originate water, semen, generatives, rains and the procreators. His genitals are the cause of a pleasure that counteracts the distress of begetting. ।। 2-6-8 ।।

english translation

भगवान् के जननांगों से जल, वीर्य, सृष्टि, वर्षा तथा प्रजापतियों का जन्म होता है। उनके जननांग उस आनन्द के कारण-स्वरूप हैं, जिससे जनन के कष्ट का प्रतिकार किया जा सकता है। ।। २-६-८ ।।

पायुर्यमस्य मित्रस्य परिमोक्षस्य नारद । हिंसाया निरृतेर्मृत्योर्निरयस्य गुदं स्मृतः ।। २-६-९ ।।

sanskrit

O Nārada, the evacuating outlet of the universal form of the Lord is the abode of the controlling deity of death, Mitra, and the evacuating hole and the rectum of the Lord is the place of envy, misfortune, death, hell, etc. ।। 2-6-9 ।।

english translation

हे नारद, भगवान् के विराट रूप का गुदाद्वार मृत्यु के नियामक देव, मित्र, का धाम है और भगवान् की बड़ी आँत का छोर ईर्ष्या, दुर्भाग्य, मृत्यु, नरक आदि का स्थान माना जाता है। ।। २-६-९ ।।

पराभूतेरधर्मस्य तमसश्चापि पश्चिमः । नाड्यो नदनदीनां तु गोत्राणामस्थिसंहतिः ।। २-६-१० ।।

sanskrit

The back of the Lord is the place for all kinds of frustration and ignorance, as well as for immorality. From His veins flow the great rivers and rivulets, and on His bones are stacked the great mountains. ।। 2-6-10 ।।

english translation

भगवान् की पीठ समस्त प्रकार की उद्विग्नता तथा अज्ञान एवं अनैतिकता का स्थान है। उनकी नसों से नदियाँ तथा नाले प्रवाहित होते हैं और उनकी हड्डियों पर बड़े-बड़े पहाड़ बने हैं। ।। २-६-१० ।।
