बोध्यमानस्य ऋषिभिरात्मनस्तज्जिघृक्षतः । कर्णौ च निरभिद्येतां दिशः श्रोत्रं गुणग्रहः ।। २-१०-२२ ।।

sanskrit

By development of the desire of the great sages to know, the ears, the power of hearing, the controlling deity of hearing, and the objects of hearing became manifested. The great sages desired to hear about the Self. ।। 2-10-22 ।।

english translation

महान् ऋषियों द्वारा जानने की इच्छा विकसित होने से कान, सुनने की शक्ति, सुनने के अधिष्ठाता देव तथा सुनने की वस्तुएँ प्रकट हुईं। ऋषिगण आत्मा के विषय में सुनना चाह रहे थे। ।। २-१०-२२ ।।
