मुखतस्तालु निर्भिन्नं जिह्वा तत्रोपजायते । ततो नानारसो जज्ञे जिह्वया योऽधिगम्यते ।। २-१०-१८ ।।

sanskrit

From the mouth the palate became manifested, and thereupon the tongue was also generated. After this all the different tastes came into existence so that the tongue can relish them. ।। 2-10-18 ।।

english translation

मुख से तालू प्रकट हुआ और फिर जीभ भी उत्पन्न हुई। इन सबके बाद विविध स्वादों की उत्पत्ति हुई जिससे जीभ उनका स्वाद ले सके। ।। २-१०-१८ ।।

hindi translation

mukhatastAlu nirbhinnaM jihvA tatropajAyate | tato nAnAraso jajJe jihvayA yo'dhigamyate || 2-10-18 ||
