श्रीशुक उवाच योऽन्त्यः पुरञ्जयो नाम भाव्यो बार्हद्रथो नृप । तस्यामात्यस्तु शुनको हत्वा स्वामिनमात्मजम् ।। १२-१-२ ।।

Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: The last king mentioned in our previous enumeration of the future rulers of the Māgadha dynasty was Purañjaya, who will take birth as the descendant of Bṛhadratha. Purañjaya’s minister Śunaka will assassinate the king and install his own son, Pradyota, on the throne. ।। 12-1-2 ।।

english translation

शुकदेव गोस्वामी ने कहा: मगध राजवंश के भावी शासकों की हमारी पिछली गणना में उल्लिखित अंतिम राजा पुरंजय थे, जो बृहद्रथ के वंशज के रूप में जन्म लेंगे। पुरंजय का मंत्री शुनक राजा की हत्या कर देगा और अपने ही पुत्र प्रद्योत को सिंहासन पर बैठा देगा। ।। १२-१-२ ।।
