उत्सृज्य सर्वतः सङ्गं विज्ञाताजितसंस्थितिः । वैयासकेर्जहौ शिष्यो गङ्गायां स्वं कलेवरम् ।। १-१८-३ ।।

Furthermore, after leaving all his associates, the King surrendered himself as a disciple to the son of Vyāsa [Śukadeva Gosvāmī], and thus he was able to understand the actual position of the Personality of Godhead, and at last gave up his material body on the bank of the Ganges. ।। 1-18-3 ।।

english translation

तत्पश्चात्, अपने समस्त संगियों को छोडक़र, राजा ने शिष्य-रूप में व्यास के पुत्र (शुकेदव गोस्वामी) की शरण ग्रहण की और इस प्रकार वे भगवान् की वास्तविक स्थिति को समझ सके।उन्होंने सबकी आसक्ति छोड़ दी, गंगातटपर जाकर श्रीशुकदेवजीसे उपदेश ग्रहण किया और इस प्रकार भगवानूके स्वरूपको जानकर अपने शरीरको त्याग दिया ।। १-१८-३ ।।
