सूत उवाच ततः परीक्षिद्द्विजवर्यशिक्षया महीं महाभागवतः शशास ह । यथा हि सूत्यामभिजातकोविदाः समादिशन् विप्र महद्गुणस्तथा ।। १-१६-१ ।।

sanskrit

Sūta Gosvāmī said: O learned brāhmaṇas, Mahārāja Parīkṣit then began to rule over the world as a great devotee of the Lord under the instructions of the best of the twice-born brāhmaṇas. He ruled by those great qualities which were foretold by expert astrologers at the time of his birth. ।। 1-16-1 ।।

english translation

सूत गोस्वामी ने कहा : हे विद्वान ब्राह्मणों, तब महाराज परीक्षित श्रेष्ठ द्विज ब्राह्मणों के आदेशों के अनुसार महान् भगवद्भक्त के रूप में संसार पर राज्य करने लगे। उन्होंने उन महान् गुणों के द्वारा शासन चलाया, जिनकी भविष्यवाणी उनके जन्म के समय पटु ज्योतिषियों ने की थी। ।। १-१६-१ ।।
