Dhara (Earth), Dhruva (the Pole Star), Soma (the Moon), Apas (Water), Vayu (Wind), Agni (Fire), Pratyusha (the Dawn), Prabhasa (Light, or the Sun), and the Vasus are all mentioned.
By merely uttering the names of these (deities), a wise person should wear the Tripundra (three horizontal marks) on their forehead. Alternatively, one should apply the Tripundra at the sixteen places, concentrating and performing it with devotion.
शीर्षके च ललाटेच कंठे चांसद्वये भुजे १०३ब्। कूर्परे मणिबंधे च हृदये नाभिपार्श्वके १०३ ।
On the head (Shirsha), on the forehead (Lalate), on the throat (Kanthe), on the two shoulders (Bhujes), on the wrists (Kurpare), on the armlets (Manibandhe), on the heart (Hridaye), and on the navel and sides (Nabhiparshvake).
पृष्ठे चैवं प्रतिष्ठाय यजेत्तत्राश्विदैवते १०४ब्। शिवशक्तिं तथा रुद्र मीशं नारदमेव च १०४ ।
On the back, thus placing the worship, one should perform the yajna (sacrifice) there, invoking the deities of the horse (Ashvadeva), along with the power of Shiva, Rudra, the Lord (Isha), and Narada himself.
