Shiva Purana
तत्रावाह्य यजेद्देवं सांबं सगणमव्ययम् ॥ तत्र माहेश्वरी कल्प्या मूर्तिर्मूर्तिमतः प्रभोः ॥ १७ ॥
There one should call upon the inexhaustible Lord Sāmba and His hosts. There Maheshwari is to be imagined as the idol of the Lord who is considered to be the idol.
english translation
tatrAvAhya yajeddevaM sAMbaM sagaNamavyayam ॥ tatra mAhezvarI kalpyA mUrtirmUrtimataH prabhoH ॥ 17 ॥
