Shiva Purana
कृत्वापि सुमहत्पापं भक्त्या पञ्चाक्षरेण तु ॥ पूजयेद्यदि देवेशं तस्मात्पापात्प्रमुच्यते ॥ ४ ॥
Even if one commits a great sin he is liberated from that if he worships the lord of the gods with devotion, repeating the five-syllabled mantra.

kRtvApi sumahatpApaM bhaktyA paJcAkSareNa tu ॥ pUjayedyadi devezaM tasmAtpApAtpramucyate ॥ 4 ॥
