तामसं राजसं वापि सात्त्विकं भावमेव च ॥ आश्रित्य भक्त्या पूजाद्यं कुर्वन्भद्रं समश्नुते ॥ ६१ ॥
Whether the attitude is Sāttvic, Rājasic or Tāmasic one performing worship etc. with devotion attains welfare.
english translation
यतः पापार्णवात्त्रातुं भक्तिर्नौरिव निर्मिता ॥ तस्माद्भक्त्युपपन्नस्य रजसा तमसा च किम् ॥ ६२ ॥
Since devotion is a boat that saves one from the ocean of sins, of what avail are Rajas and Tamas to one who is endowed with devotion?
english translation
अन्त्यजो वाधमो वापि मूर्खो वा पतितो ऽपि वा ॥ शिवं प्रपन्नश्चेत्कृष्ण पूज्यस्सर्वसुरासुरैः ॥ ६३ ॥
O Kṛṣṇa, a low born, a base or a fool, or a fallen man, if he resorts to Śiva is worthy of being worshipped by the gods and Asuras.
english translation
तस्मात्सर्वप्रयत्नेन भक्त्यैव शिवमर्चयेत् ॥ अभुक्तानां क्वचिदपि फलं नास्ति यतस्ततः ॥ ६४ ॥
Hence, by all means, one shall worship Śiva with devotion alone, since non-devotees secure no benefit from anywhere.
english translation
वक्ष्याम्यतिरहस्यं ते शृणु कृष्ण वचो मम ॥ वेदैश्शास्त्रैर्वेदविद्भिर्विचार्य सुविनिश्चितम् ॥ ६५ ॥
O Kṛṣṇa, I shall tell you a great secret. Listen to my words. This is what has been decided conclusively by the Vedas, scriptures and those who know them, after careful consideration.
