कृत्वा वेदिं च तन्मध्ये कुण्डानि परिकल्पयेत् ॥ अष्टदिक्षु तथा दिक्षु तत्रैशान्यां पुनः क्रमात् ॥ ३ ॥

After making an altar, one should arrange pots in the middle of the altar. Then in the eight directions, and then in the north-east, one after the other.

kRtvA vediM ca tanmadhye kuNDAni parikalpayet ॥ aSTadikSu tathA dikSu tatraizAnyAM punaH kramAt ॥ 3 ॥
