ज्ञानं ज्ञेयमनुष्ठेयमधिकारो ऽथ साधनम् ॥ साध्यं चेति षडर्थानां संग्रहत्वेष संग्रहः ॥ ४६ ॥

This succinct account contains the six topics, viz., Jñāna, Jñeya, Anuṣṭheya, Adhikāra, Sādhana and Sādhya.

गुरोरधिकृतं ज्ञानं ज्ञेयं पाशः पशुः पतिः ॥ लिंगार्चनाद्यनुष्ठेयं भक्तस्त्वधिकृतो ऽपि यः ॥ ४७ ॥

Knowledge authorized by the spiritual master is to be understood as a rope, an animal and a master. A devotee who is entitled to worship the limbs and other rituals should be performed.

साधनं शिवमंत्राद्यं साध्यं शिवसमानता ॥ षडर्थसंग्रहस्यास्य ज्ञानात्सर्वज्ञतोच्यते ॥ ४८ ॥

The means of achieving this is the mantra of Lord Śiva and the equality of Lord Śiva. By knowledge of this collection of six meanings he is called omniscient.

प्रथमं कर्म यज्ञादेर्भक्त्या वित्तानुसारतः ॥ बाह्येभ्यर्च्य शिवं पश्चादंतर्यागरतो भवेत् ॥ ४९ ॥

After worshipping Śiva externally at the outset by means of Karmayajña with devotion and in accordance with one’s affluence, the devotee shall afterwards be engaged in inner sacrifice.

रतिरभ्यंतरे यस्य न बाह्ये पुण्यगौरवात् ॥ न कर्म करणीयं हि बहिस्तस्य महात्मनाः ॥ ५० ॥

If for more virtue one is interested in the inner and not in the external working, the noble soul need not perform the external worship.
