गोदानं च वृषोत्सर्गं कुर्यात्पूजां च संपदा ॥ भक्तश्च शिवप्रीत्यर्थं सर्वकामविवर्जितः ॥ ७१ ॥
He shall make charitable gifts of cows and oxen, perform worship in accordance with her wealth and capacity devoutly and free from any specific desire, for the pleasure of Śiva.

सामान्यमेतत्कथितं व्रतस्यास्य समासतः ॥ प्रतिमासं विशेषं च प्रवदामि यथाश्रुतम् ॥ ७२ ॥
The common features of this Vrata have been narrated briefly. I shall now explain the special features for every month in the manner I have heard.

वैशाखे वज्रलिंगं तु ज्येष्ठे मारकतं शुभम् ॥ आषाढे मौक्तिकं विद्याच्छ्रावणे नीलनिर्मितम् ॥ ७३ ॥
In the month of Vaiśākha the Vajralinga is auspicious and in the eldest month the auspicious Marakata. In Ashadha it is known to be a pearl and in Shravana it is known to be made of blue.

मासे भाद्रपदे चैव पद्मरागमयं परम् ॥ आश्विने मासि विद्याद्वै लिंगं गोमेदकं वरम् ॥ ७४ ॥
In the month of Bhadrapada, the next day is the lotus flower. In the month of Ashwin one should know that Linga is the best of onyx.

कार्तिक्यां वैद्रुमं लिंगं वैदूर्यं मार्गशीर्षके ॥ पुष्परागमयं पौषे माघे द्युमणिजन्तथा ॥ ७५ ॥
On the day of Kārttikī one should worship Vaidruma, and on the month of Margaśīrṣaka one should worship Vaidūrya. It is made of flowers and gems in the month of Pausa and Magha.
