महोर्मिकलिलावर्तश्चुक्षुभे च महोदधिः ॥ पेतुश्चोल्का महोत्पाताः शाखाश्च मुमुचुर्द्रुमाः ॥ ६१ ॥
The ocean was agitated with the surging waves, foams and whirlpools. Meteors fell portending great evil. Trees shed down their branches.

अप्रसन्ना दिशः सर्वाः पवनश्चाशिवो ववौ ॥ अहो विधिविपर्यासस्त्वश्वमेधोयमध्वरः ॥ यजमानस्स्वयं दक्षौ ब्रह्मपुत्रप्रजापतिः ॥ ६२ ॥
All directions were unhappy and the wind blew auspiciously Alas, this sacrifice is contrary to the prescribed rituals. The sacrificer himself was Daksha the son of Brahma and the creator.

धर्मादयस्सदस्याश्च रक्षिता गरुडध्वजः ॥ भागांश्च प्रतिगृह्णंति साक्षादिंद्रादयः सुराः ॥ ६३ ॥
Dharma and others and their members were protected by the banner of Garuda The gods, such as Indra, directly receive their shares.

तथापि यजमानस्य यज्ञस्य च सहर्त्विजः ॥ सद्य एव शिरश्छेदस्साधु संपद्यते फलम् ॥ ६४ ॥
Nevertheless, the priests were present with the performer of the sacrifice. The head is immediately cut off and the results are good.

तस्मान्नावेदनिर्दिष्टं न चेश्वरबहिष्कृतम् ॥ नासत्परिगृहीतं च कर्म कुर्यात्कदाचन ॥ ६५ ॥
Hence no such action shall be performed that is not indicated in the Vedas, and that which excludes Śiva and is taken up by the wicked.
