तस्य तस्मिन्मखेदेवाः सर्वे शक्र पुरोगमाः ॥ गमनाय समागम्य बुद्धिमापेदिरे तदा ॥ ६ ॥
All the gods Indra and others gathered there and thought of going to attend the sacrifice.
english translation
tasya tasminmakhedevAH sarve zakra purogamAH ॥ gamanAya samAgamya buddhimApedire tadA ॥ 6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptआदित्या वसवो रुद्रास्साध्यास्सह मरुद्गणैः ॥ ऊष्मपाः सोमपाश्चैव आज्यपा धूमपास्तथा ॥ ७ ॥
The suns the Vasus the Rudras the Sādhyas and the Maruts They drank heat and drank the moon and drank the fire and drank the smoke.
english translation
AdityA vasavo rudrAssAdhyAssaha marudgaNaiH ॥ USmapAH somapAzcaiva AjyapA dhUmapAstathA ॥ 7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअश्विनौ पितरश्चैव तथा चान्ये महर्षयः ॥ विष्णुना सहिताः सर्वे स्वागता यज्ञभागिनः ॥ ८ ॥
The Aśvinī-kumāras and the forefathers and also other great sages All the participants in the sacrifice were welcomed along with Lord Visnu.

azvinau pitarazcaiva tathA cAnye maharSayaH ॥ viSNunA sahitAH sarve svAgatA yajJabhAginaH ॥ 8 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदृष्ट्वा देवकुलं सर्वमीश्वरेण विनागतम् ॥ दधीचो मन्युनाविष्टो दक्षमेवमभाषत ॥ ९ ॥
On seeing all the gods assembled there without Śiva, Dadhīca became angry. He spoke to Dakṣa thus.
english translation
dRSTvA devakulaM sarvamIzvareNa vinAgatam ॥ dadhIco manyunAviSTo dakSamevamabhASata ॥ 9 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदधीच उवाच ॥ अप्रपूज्ये चैव पूजा पूज्यानां चाप्य पूजने ॥ नरः पापमवाप्नोति महद्वै नात्र संशयः ॥ १० ॥
Dadhīca said:— Indeed that man incurs great sin who does not worship those who deserve worship and worships those who do not befit it.
english translation
dadhIca uvAca ॥ aprapUjye caiva pUjA pUjyAnAM cApya pUjane ॥ naraH pApamavApnoti mahadvai nAtra saMzayaH ॥ 10 ॥
