Shiva Purana
इत्युक्त्वा मातृचरणावभिवाद्य तपोनिधिः ॥ जगाम च तपः कर्त्तुं तीर्थं पापविशोधनम् ॥ ४२ ॥
After saying this and worshipping his mother’s feet the sage, a storehouse of penance, went away to perform penance to holy centres quelling sins.
english translation
ityuktvA mAtRcaraNAvabhivAdya taponidhiH ॥ jagAma ca tapaH karttuM tIrthaM pApavizodhanam ॥ 42 ॥
