रश्मिहीनं यदा देवि भवेत्सोमार्कमण्डलम्।। दृश्यते पाटलाकारं मासार्दे्धेन विपद्यते।। २१।।

sanskrit

O goddess, if the zone of the sun or the moon appears devoid of rays or like the trumpet flower, the man dies within half a month.

english translation

razmihInaM yadA devi bhavetsomArkamaNDalam|| dRzyate pATalAkAraM mAsArdedhena vipadyate|| 21||

अरुंधती महायानमिंदुलक्षणवर्जितम्।। अदृष्टतारको योऽसौ मासमेकं स जीवति।। २२।।

sanskrit

If a person does not see the star Arundhatī or the moon with the black spot, or if any one does not see any star he lives only for a month.Wom.

aruMdhatI mahAyAnamiMdulakSaNavarjitam|| adRSTatArako yo'sau mAsamekaM sa jIvati|| 22||

दृष्टे ग्रहे च दिङ्मोहः षण्मासाज्जायते ध्रुवम्।। उतथ्यं न ध्रुवं पश्येद्यदि वा रविमण्डलम्।। २३।।

sanskrit

If a person does not see the star Utathya or the Polar star or the solar zone or has delusion of quarters on seeing the planet he dies within six months.

english translation

dRSTe grahe ca diGmohaH SaNmAsAjjAyate dhruvam|| utathyaM na dhruvaM pazyedyadi vA ravimaNDalam|| 23||

रात्रौ धनुर्यदापश्येन्मध्याह्ने चोल्कपातनम्।। वेष्ट्यते गृध्रकाकैश्च षण्मासायुर्न संशयः।। २४।।

sanskrit

If a man sees rainbow at night or the fall of the meteor at midday or if he is surrounded by vultures and crows he lives only for six months more.

ऋषयस्स्वर्गपंथाश्च दृश्यंते नैव चाम्बरे।। षण्मासायुर्विजनीयात्पुरुषैः कालवेदिभिः ।। २५।।

If the great Bear and the Milky way are not seen in the sky, know him to live for only six months more. This shall be declared by the experts.
