अस्वेदमधुभिर्याभिरंतस्थः स्रवते बहिः।। द्वात्रिंशद्दशनाः प्रोक्ता विंशतिश्च नखाः स्मृताः ।। ४६ ।।

sanskrit

The internal secretions circulate within and go out through these vessels. The teeth are thirty two in number and the nails are twenty.

english translation

पित्तस्य कुडवं ज्ञेयं कफस्याथाढकं स्मृतम् ।। वसायाश्च पलं विंशत्तदर्धं कपिलस्य च ।। ४७।।

sanskrit

The measure of bile content in the body is one Kuḍava. (1/4 of Prastha or 12 handfuls). The phlegm is one Āḍhaka (256 fistfuls). The vasā fat weighs 20 palas. Half of that is the tawny matter.

pittasya kuDavaM jJeyaM kaphasyAthADhakaM smRtam || vasAyAzca palaM viMzattadardhaM kapilasya ca || 47||

पंचार्द्धं तु तुला ज्ञेया पलानि दश मेदसः ।। पलत्रयं महारक्तं मज्जायाश्च चतुर्गुणम् ।। ४८ ।।

The weight of solid fat is 2½ Tulās and ten palas. Blood is three palas and it is four times the marrow.

शुक्रोर्द्धं कुडवं ज्ञेयं तद्बीजं देहिनां बलम् ।। मांसस्य चैकपिंडेन पलसाहस्रमुच्यते ।। ४९।।

sanskrit

The semen is half a Kuḍava. The strength of the living beings depends on it. A mass of flesh weighs a thousand palas.

O excellent sage, the blood is hundred palas according to which the faeces and the urine form four handfuls each.
