उद्यानानि विचित्राणि प्रसन्नैः पूजितान्यथ ।। नराश्च देवतास्सर्वे स्त्रियश्चाप्सरसस्तथा ।। ५१ ।।

The gardens and parks are of various kinds frequented by delighted people. Here men are like gods and the women are like the celestial damsels.

कर्मभूमौ याज्ञिकाश्च पौराणास्स्वर्गकाम्यया ।। कुर्वन्ति ते वृथा सर्वे विहाय हिमवत्पुरम् ।। ५२ ।।

In the land of activities (i.e. Bhārata), the sacrificial priests and the followers of Purāṇas perform holy rites with a desire to attain heaven. That is in vain because they have left off the city of Himavat.

karmabhUmau yAjJikAzca paurANAssvargakAmyayA || kurvanti te vRthA sarve vihAya himavatpuram || 52 ||

यावन्न दृष्टमेतच्च तावत्स्वर्गपरा नराः ।। दृष्ट्रमेतद्यदा विप्राः किं स्वर्गेण प्रयोजनम् ।।५३।।

Men are eager to go to heaven only as long as this city is not seen. O brahmins, when this city is seen what is the use of heaven?

yAvanna dRSTametacca tAvatsvargaparA narAH || dRSTrametadyadA viprAH kiM svargeNa prayojanam ||53||

।। ब्रह्मोवाच ।। इत्येवमृषिवर्य्यास्ते वर्णयन्तः पुरश्च तत्।। गता हैमालयं सर्वे गृहं सर्वसमृद्धिमत् ।। ५४ ।।

Brahmā said: Describing the city thus all those excellent sages went to the rich and well-furnished abode of Himavat.

तान्द्रष्ट्वा सूर्यसंकाशान् हिमवान्विस्मितोऽब्रवीत् ।। दूरादाकाशमार्गस्थान्मुनीन्सप्त सुतेजसः ।। ५५ ।।

On seeing those seven sages, resplendent like the sun, coming along the aerial path from a distance, Himavat was surprised and said:
