मां ज्ञात्वा तौ परं ब्रह्म दम्पती परभक्तितः ॥ दातुकामावभूतां च स्वसुतां वेदरीतितः ॥३१॥
On hearing to know that I am the supreme Brahman, the couple were desirous of giving me their daughter with great devotion in accordance with the Vedic manner.
english translation
mAM jJAtvA tau paraM brahma dampatI parabhaktitaH ॥ dAtukAmAvabhUtAM ca svasutAM vedarItitaH ॥31॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदेवप्रेरणयाहं वै कृतवानस्मि निन्दनम् ॥ तदा स्वस्य च तद्भक्तिं विहन्तुं वैष्ण्णवात्मना ॥ ३२ ॥
On the inducement of the gods, in order to reduce the quality of devotion (of Himavat and Menā) I took the guise of a devotee of Viṣṇu and rebuked myself.
english translation
devapreraNayAhaM vai kRtavAnasmi nindanam ॥ tadA svasya ca tadbhaktiM vihantuM vaiSNNavAtmanA ॥ 32 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतच्छ्रुत्वा तौ सुनिर्विण्णो तद्धीनौ संबभूवतुः ॥ स्वकन्यां नेच्छतो दातुं मह्यं हि मुनयोऽधुना ॥ ३३ ॥
O sages, on hearing it they were dejected and have now lost interest in me and do not wish to give their daughter to me.
english translation
tacchrutvA tau sunirviNNo taddhInau saMbabhUvatuH ॥ svakanyAM necchato dAtuM mahyaM hi munayo'dhunA ॥ 33 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्माद्भवन्तो गच्छन्तु हिमाचलगृहं ध्रुवम् ॥ तत्र गत्वा गिरिवरं तत्पत्नीञ्च प्रबोधय ॥३४॥
Hence you all go to the abode of Himavat and urge the excellent mountain and his wife.
english translation
tasmAdbhavanto gacchantu himAcalagRhaM dhruvam ॥ tatra gatvA girivaraM tatpatnIJca prabodhaya ॥34॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकथनीयं प्रयत्नेन वचनं वेदसम्मितम् ॥ सर्वथा करणीयन्तद्यथा स्यात्कार्य्यमुत्तमम् ॥३५॥
Speak out the words as venerable as the Vedas. Do everything necessary to get the matter straightened out and settled.
english translation
kathanIyaM prayatnena vacanaM vedasammitam ॥ sarvathA karaNIyantadyathA syAtkAryyamuttamam ॥35॥
