देवानां दुःखमुत्पन्नं ता रकात्सुदुरात्मनः ॥ ब्रह्मणा च वरौ दत्तः किं करोमि दुरासदः ॥ २६ ॥
Cause for great misery has arisen for the gods at the hands of Tāraka the wicked. Boon has already been granted. He is invincible. What shall I do?
english translation
devAnAM duHkhamutpannaM tA rakAtsudurAtmanaH ॥ brahmaNA ca varau dattaH kiM karomi durAsadaH ॥ 26 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमूर्तयोऽष्टौ च याः प्रोक्ता मदीयाः परमर्षयः ॥ तास्सर्वा उपकाराय न तु स्वार्थाय तत्स्फुटम् ॥ २७ ॥
O great sages, all the eight cosmic bodies that I possess are not for furthering my self-interest, they are for helping the wide world.
english translation
mUrtayo'STau ca yAH proktA madIyAH paramarSayaH ॥ tAssarvA upakArAya na tu svArthAya tatsphuTam ॥ 27 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतथा च कर्तुकामोहं विवाहं शिवया सह ॥ तया वै सुतपस्तप्तं दुष्करं परमर्षिभिः ॥ २८ ॥
A great penance has been performed by Pārvatī. That cannot be performed even by great sages. I have to give her the great fruit thereof.
english translation
tathA ca kartukAmohaM vivAhaM zivayA saha ॥ tayA vai sutapastaptaM duSkaraM paramarSibhiH ॥ 28 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्यै परं फलं देयमभीष्टं तद्धितावहम् ॥ एतादृशः पणो मे हि भक्तानन्दप्रदः स्फुटम् ॥ २९ ॥
Indeed my vow is to render delight to my devotees. The fruit I bestow on her shall be conducive to her welfare. Hence I wish to marry her.

tasyai paraM phalaM deyamabhISTaM taddhitAvaham ॥ etAdRzaH paNo me hi bhaktAnandapradaH sphuTam ॥ 29 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपार्वतीवचनाद्भिक्षुरूपो यातो गिरेर्गृहम् ॥ अहं पावितवान्कालीं यतो लीलाविशारदः ॥ 2-3-32-३० ॥
At the request of Pārvatī I went to the abode of the mountain in the guise of a mendicant. Clever in divine sports I thereby sanctified her.
