त्वया निंदा कृता यात्र हरस्यामित तेजसः ॥ त्वत्पूजा च कृता यन्मे तस्मात्पापम्भजाम्यहम् ॥ २६ ॥
You have censured Śiva of immeasurable splendour and I have worshiped you, hence I have become sinful.
english translation
शिवविद्वेषिणं दृष्ट्वा सचेलं स्नानमाचरेत् ॥ शिवविद्वेषिणं दृष्ट्वा प्रायश्चितं समाचरेत् ॥२७॥
On seeing a person who hates Śiva one should take bath along with one’s clothes. On seeing a person who hates Śiva one should perform expiatory rites.
english translation
रे रे दुष्ट त्वया चोक्तमहं जानामि शंकरम् ॥ निश्चयेन न विज्ञातश्शिव एव सनातनः ॥२८॥
O wicked one, you profess knowledge of Śiva. But you should know that the eternal Śiva is not known at all.
english translation
यथा तथा भवेद्रुद्रो यथा वा बहुरूपवान् ॥ ममाभीष्टतमो नित्यं निर्विकारी सतां प्रियः ॥ २९ ॥
Whatever may be the form or feature of Śiva, He is multiformed. Still He is my favourite. He is without aberration and beloved of the good.
english translation
विष्णुर्ब्रह्मापि न समस्तस्य क्वापि महात्मनः ॥ कुतोऽन्ये निर्जराद्याश्च कालाधीनास्सदैवतम्॥2-3-28-३०॥
Neither Viṣṇu nor Brahmā can equal that noble soul. How can then the gods and others be? They are always dependent on Time and are not eternal.
