इति बुध्या समालोक्य स्वया सत्या सुतत्त्वतः ॥ शिवार्थं वनमागत्य करोमि विपुलं तपः ॥ ३१ ॥
After realising this with my sharp intellect factually, I have come to this forest and am performing the elaborate penance for attaining Śiva.
english translation
स एव परमेशानस्सर्वेशो भक्तवत्सलः ॥ संप्राप्तुम्मेऽभिलाषो हि दीनानुग्रहकारकम् ॥ ३२ ॥
My ambition is to attain the supreme lord who is favourably disposed to His devotees and who blesses the distressed.
english translation
ब्रह्मोवाच ॥ इत्युक्त्वा गिरिजा सा हि गिरीश्वरसुता मुने ॥ विरराम शिवं दध्यो निर्विकारेण चेतसा ॥ ३३ ॥
Brahmā said: After saying this, O sage, Pārvatī, the daughter of the mountain, stopped and meditated on Śiva with unaffected mind.
english translation
तदाकर्ण्य वचो देव्या ब्रह्मचारी स वै द्विजः ॥ पुनर्वचनमाख्यातुं यावदेव प्रचक्रमे ॥३४॥
Hearing the words of the Goddess, that Brahmachārī (celibate student), who was indeed a twice-born (dvija), Once again began to speak in order to convey (his) message.
english translation
उवाच गिरिजा तावत्स्वसखीं विजयां द्रुतम् ॥ शिव सक्तमनोवृत्तिश्शिवनिंदापराङ्मुखी॥३५॥
Then Girijā (Pārvatī) quickly spoke to her friend Vijayā, Her mind wholly devoted to Shiva, and completely turned away from the slander of Shiva.
