एवं सा पार्वती शंभुविरहोत्क्लिष्टमानसा ।। सुखं न लेभे किंचिद्राऽब्रवीच्छिवशिवेति च ।। १६ ।।

Thus Pārvatī was much distressed in mind due to separation from Śiva. She did not at all feel happy. She always muttered “Śiva, Śiva.”

निवसंती पितुर्ग्गेहे पिनाकिगतचेतना ।। शुशोचाथ शिवा तात मुमोह च मुहुर्मुहुः ।। १७ ।।

O dear, with her consciousness centred round the Pināka-bearing lord, she continued to stay in the palace of her father. Śiva bewailed much and fainted frequently.

nivasaMtI piturggehe pinAkigatacetanA || zuzocAtha zivA tAta mumoha ca muhurmuhuH || 17 ||

शैलाधिराजोप्यथ मेनकापि मैनाकमुख्यास्तनयाश्च सर्वे।। तां सांत्वयामासुरदीनसत्त्वा हरं विसस्मार तथापि नो सा ।।१८।।

The lord of the mountains, Menakā, and their sons chief of whom was Maināka of undisturbed mind, tried to console her but still she did not forget Śiva.

अथ देवमुने धीमन्हिमव त्प्रस्तरे तदा ।। नियोजितो बलभिदागमस्त्वं कामचारतः ।। १९ ।।

O celestial sage, O intelligent one, employed by Indra, the slayer of Bala, you came to Himalaya mountain roaming here and there as you pleased.

atha devamune dhImanhimava tprastare tadA || niyojito balabhidAgamastvaM kAmacArataH || 19 ||

ततस्त्वं पूजितस्तेन भूधरेण महात्मना ।। कुशलं पृष्टवांस्तं वै तदाविष्टो वरासने ।। 2.3.21.२० ।।

You were then worshipped by the noble-souled mountain. You enquired of his health and happiness and you were seated in a noble seat.

tatastvaM pUjitastena bhUdhareNa mahAtmanA || kuzalaM pRSTavAMstaM vai tadAviSTo varAsane || 2.3.21.20 ||
