स बालो भौम इत्याख्यां प्राप्य भूत्वा युवा द्रुतम् ।। तस्यां काश्यां चिरं कालं सिषेवे शंकरम्प्रभुम् ।।२६।।

sanskrit

The child acquired the name Bhauma (son of the Earth). He attained youth immedately. For a long time he worshipped lord Śiva at Kāśī.

english translation

sa bAlo bhauma ityAkhyAM prApya bhUtvA yuvA drutam || tasyAM kAzyAM ciraM kAlaM siSeve zaMkaramprabhum ||26||

विश्वेश्वरप्रसादेन ग्रहत्वं प्राप्य भूमिजः ।। दिव्यं लोकं जगामाशु शुक्रलोकात्परं वरम् ।। २७ ।।

sanskrit

By the grace of lord Śiva, the son of the Earth, acquired the status of a planet. He went to the heavenly sphere beyond the region of Venus.

english translation

vizvezvaraprasAdena grahatvaM prApya bhUmijaH || divyaM lokaM jagAmAzu zukralokAtparaM varam || 27 ||

इत्युक्तं शम्भुचरितं सतीविरहसंयुतम्।। तपस्याचरणं शम्भोश्शृणु चादरतो मुने ।।२८।।

O sage, thus I have told you the story of Śiva and His separation from Satī. Now listen to the story of His performance of penance.

ityuktaM zambhucaritaM satIvirahasaMyutam|| tapasyAcaraNaM zambhozzRNu cAdarato mune ||28||
