समधत्त गिरेः पत्नी गर्भं देव्याः प्रसादतः ।। चित्ते स्थितायाः करुणाकरायाः सुखदं गिरेः ।। ६ ।।

sanskrit

The wife of the mountain, by the grace of the goddess who had sympathetically stationed herself in the mind of the mountain, conceived.

english translation

samadhatta gireH patnI garbhaM devyAH prasAdataH || citte sthitAyAH karuNAkarAyAH sukhadaM gireH || 6 ||

गिरिप्रिया सर्वजगन्निवासासंश्रयाधिकम् ।। विरेजे सुतरां मेना तेजोमण्डलगा सदा ।। ७ ।।

sanskrit

The beloved of the mountain, Menā, shone all the more by the presence of the goddess who bore the entire universe. She appeared as if she was in a brilliant sphere.

english translation

giripriyA sarvajagannivAsAsaMzrayAdhikam || vireje sutarAM menA tejomaNDalagA sadA || 7 ||

सुखोदयं स्वभर्तुश्च मेना दौहृदलक्षणम् ।। दधौ निदानन्देवानामानन्दस्येप्सितं शुभम् ।। ८ ।।

sanskrit

Menā bore the characteristic signs of pregnancy which almost indicated the imminent rise in pleasure of her lord and served as the auspicious cause for the future bliss of the gods.

english translation

sukhodayaM svabhartuzca menA dauhRdalakSaNam || dadhau nidAnandevAnAmAnandasyepsitaM zubham || 8 ||

देह सादादसंपूर्णभूषणा लोध्रसंमुखा ।। स्वल्पभेन्दुक्षये कालं विचेष्यर्क्षा विभावरी ।। ९।।

The weakness of her body did not allow her to wear ornaments. Her face became pale like the Lodhra flower. She resembled the night when there are very few stars and the moon is in a waning state.

english translation

deha sAdAdasaMpUrNabhUSaNA lodhrasaMmukhA || svalpabhendukSaye kAlaM viceSyarkSA vibhAvarI || 9||

तदाननं मृत्सुरभिनायं तृप्तिं गिरीश्वरः ।। मुने रहस्युपाघ्राय प्रेमाधिक्यं बभूव तत् ।।2.3.6.१०।।

Kissing her face, emitting the fragrance of the earth in the course of his secret dalliance, the lord of the mountains, was not satiated. His love increased.
