मेना स्पृहावती केषु न मे शंसति वस्तुषु ।। किंचिदिष्टं ह्रियापृच्छदनुवेलं सखी गिरिः ।।११।।

The lord of mountains asked Menā’s friends frequently—“What are the desires of Menā? She herself does not express them out of bashfulness.”

english translation

menA spRhAvatI keSu na me zaMsati vastuSu || kiMcidiSTaM hriyApRcchadanuvelaM sakhI giriH ||11||

उपेत्य दौहदं शल्यं यद्वव्रेऽपश्यदाशु तत् ।। आनीतं नेष्टमस्याद्धा नासाध्यं त्रिदिवैऽपि हि ।। १२ ।।

sanskrit

Whatever product of the mountain she wished to have in the course of her pregnancy she found brought to her. There was nothing which he, the lord of the mountain, could not accomplish in the heaven too.

upetya dauhadaM zalyaM yadvavre'pazyadAzu tat || AnItaM neSTamasyAddhA nAsAdhyaM tridivai'pi hi || 12 ||

प्रचीयमानावयवा निस्तीर्य दोहदव्यथाम् ।। रेजे मेना बाललता नद्धपत्राधिका यथा ।। १३ ।।

Surmounting the difficulties of the early days of pregnancy, she grew more plump in her limbs. Menā then shone like a tender creeper putting forth more leaves and flowers.

The intelligent lord of mountains performed all the sacred rites befitting his love for his wife, the loftiness of his mind, the vastness of riches earned by him and the injunctions of the Vedas.
