ब्रह्मोवाच ॥ एवं संस्तूयमाना सा योगनिद्रा मया मुने ॥ आविर्बभूव प्रत्यक्षं देवर्षे चंडिका मम ॥ ६ ॥
Brahmā said: O celestial sage, on being thus lauded Caṇḍikā, the mystic slumber, appeared before me.
english translation
brahmovAca ॥ evaM saMstUyamAnA sA yoganidrA mayA mune ॥ AvirbabhUva pratyakSaM devarSe caMDikA mama ॥ 6 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस्निग्धांजनद्युतिश्चारुरूपा दिव्यचतुर्भुजा ॥ सिंहस्था वरहस्ता च मुक्तामणिकचोत्कटा ॥ ७ ॥
Her complexion had the glossy hue of collyrium. She had comely features. She had four divine arms. She was seated on a lion. She showed the mystic gesture of granting boons by one of her hands, and pearls adorned her dishevelled hair.
english translation
snigdhAMjanadyutizcArurUpA divyacaturbhujA ॥ siMhasthA varahastA ca muktAmaNikacotkaTA ॥ 7 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptशरदिंद्वानना शुभ्रचन्द्रभाला त्रिलोचना ॥ सर्वावयवरम्या च कमलांघ्रिनखद्युतिः॥८॥
Her face shone like the autumnal moon, the crescent moon bedecked her forehead. She had three eyes, looked beautiful and the nails of her lotus-like feet glistened.

zaradiMdvAnanA zubhracandrabhAlA trilocanA ॥ sarvAvayavaramyA ca kamalAMghrinakhadyutiH॥8॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसमक्षं तामुमां वीक्ष्य मुने शक्तिं शिवस्य हि ॥ भक्त्या विनततुंगांशः प्रास्तवं सुप्रणम्य वै ॥ ९ ॥
O sage, seeing her who was Śiva’s Energy herself, directly in front of me, my lofty shoulders bent down with devotion and I eulogised her after due obeisance.

samakSaM tAmumAM vIkSya mune zaktiM zivasya hi ॥ bhaktyA vinatatuMgAMzaH prAstavaM supraNamya vai ॥ 9 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptब्रह्मोवाच ॥ नमो नमस्ते जगतःप्रवृत्तिनिवृतिरूपे स्थितिसर्गरूपे ॥ चराचराणां भवती सुशक्तिस्सनातनी सर्वविमोहनीति ॥ 2-2-11-१० ॥
Brahmā said: Obeisance, obeisence, to Thee, who art in the form of Pravṛtti (Action) and Nivṛtti (Abstinence); who art in the form of creation and sustenance of the universe. Thou art the eternal Energy of the movable and the immovable beings capable of enchanting everyone.
