उन्मील्य नयने यावत्स पश्यति तपोधनः ॥ तावदुद्यत्सहस्रांशु सहस्राधिकतेजसम् ॥ ११ ॥
As the ascetic (tapasvin), full of penance, opened his eyes, he beheld a radiance greater than a thousand rising suns.
english translation
unmIlya nayane yAvatsa pazyati tapodhanaH ॥ tAvadudyatsahasrAMzu sahasrAdhikatejasam ॥ 11 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपुरो ददर्श श्रीकंठं चन्द्रचूडमुमाधवम् ॥ तत्तेजः परिभूताक्षितेजाः संमील्य लोचने ॥१२॥
Before him stood Śrīkaṇṭha (Shiva), the moon-crested lord, consort of Umā. Overwhelmed by that divine radiance which even outshone the sun, the sage closed his eyes again, unable to bear its brilliance.

puro dadarza zrIkaMThaM candracUDamumAdhavam ॥ tattejaH paribhUtAkSitejAH saMmIlya locane ॥12॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptउवाच देवदेवेशं मनोरथपदातिगम् ॥ निजांघ्रिदर्शने नाथ दृक्सामर्थ्यं प्रयच्छ मे ॥ १३ ॥
He then spoke to Devadeva (God of gods), Mahadeva, the one who transcends all desires: “O Lord, grant me the strength in my eyes to behold Your sacred feet directly!”

uvAca devadevezaM manorathapadAtigam ॥ nijAMghridarzane nAtha dRksAmarthyaM prayaccha me ॥ 13 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअयमेव वरो नाथ यत्त्वं साक्षान्निरीक्ष्यसे ॥ किमन्येन वरेणेश नमस्ते शशिशेखर ॥ १४ ॥
This itself is a great boon, O lord, that I see you present. O lord, O moon-crested God, obeisance be to you. Of what avail are other boons?
english translation
ayameva varo nAtha yattvaM sAkSAnnirIkSyase ॥ kimanyena vareNeza namaste zazizekhara ॥ 14 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइति तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा देवदेव उमापतिः॥ ददौ दर्शनसामर्थ्यं स्पृष्ट्वा पाणितलेन तम्॥१५॥
On hearing his words, the lord of devas, Umā’s consort touched him with his palm and gave him the requisite of Vision.
english translation
iti tadvacanaM zrutvA devadeva umApatiH॥ dadau darzanasAmarthyaM spRSTvA pANitalena tam॥15॥
