सनत्कुमार उवाच ॥ सा च गत्वा हि संग्रामं सिंहनादं चकार ह ॥ देव्याश्च तेन नादेन मूर्च्छामापुश्च दानवाः ॥ १ ॥
Sanatkumāra said: Going to the battle ground, the goddess Kālī roared like a lion. On hearing that the Dānavas fainted.
english translation
sanatkumAra uvAca ॥ sA ca gatvA hi saMgrAmaM siMhanAdaM cakAra ha ॥ devyAzca tena nAdena mUrcchAmApuzca dAnavAH ॥ 1 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअट्टाट्टहासमशिवं चकार च पुनः पुनः ॥ तदा पपौ च माध्वीकं ननर्त रणमूर्द्धनि ॥ २ ॥
She laughed boisterously again and again boding ill to the Asuras. She drank the distilled grapewine and danced on the battle ground.
english translation
aTTATTahAsamazivaM cakAra ca punaH punaH ॥ tadA papau ca mAdhvIkaM nanarta raNamUrddhani ॥ 2 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptउग्रदंष्ट्रा चोग्रदंडा कोटवी च पपौ मधु ॥ अन्याश्च देव्यस्तत्राजौ ननृतुर्मधु संपपुः ॥३॥
The manifestations of Durgā viz—Ugradaṃṣṭrā (one with fierce fangs) Ugradaṇḍā (one with fierce baton) and Kotavī (the naked) danced on the battle ground and drank wine.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptमहान् कोलाहलो जातो गणदेवदले तदा॥ जहृषुर्बहुगर्जंतस्सर्वे सुरगणादयः ॥ ४ ॥
There was great tumult on the side of the Gaṇas and the gods. All the gods and the Gaṇas roared and rejoiced.

mahAn kolAhalo jAto gaNadevadale tadA॥ jahRSurbahugarjaMtassarve suragaNAdayaH ॥ 4 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदृष्ट्वा कालीं शंखचूडश्शीघ्रमाजौ समाययौ ॥ दानवाश्च भयं प्राप्ता राजा तेभ्योऽभयं ददौ ॥५॥
On seeing Kālī, Śaṅkhacūḍa hastened to the battle ground. The Dānavas were frightened but the king Śaṅkhacūḍa assured them of protection.
