सनत्कुमार उवाच ॥ अथेशानो महारुद्रो दुष्टकालस्सतांगतिः ॥ शंखचूडवधं चित्ते निश्चिकाय सुरेच्छया ॥ १ ॥
Sanatkumāra said: Then lord Śiva, Death to the wicked, goal of the good, decided in his mind to slay Śaṅkhacūḍa in accordance with the wishes of the gods.
english translation
sanatkumAra uvAca ॥ athezAno mahArudro duSTakAlassatAMgatiH ॥ zaMkhacUDavadhaM citte nizcikAya surecchayA ॥ 1 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदूतं कृत्वा चित्ररथं गंधर्वेश्वरमीप्सितम् ॥ शीघ्रं प्रस्थापयामास शंखचूडांतिके मुदा ॥ २ ॥
He made his friend the lord of Gandharvas his messenger and sent him in a wonderful chariot hurriedly to Śaṅkhacūḍa joyously.
english translation
dUtaM kRtvA citrarathaM gaMdharvezvaramIpsitam ॥ zIghraM prasthApayAmAsa zaMkhacUDAMtike mudA ॥ 2 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसर्वेश्वराज्ञया दूतो ययौ तन्नगरं च सः ॥ महेन्द्रनगरोत्कृष्टं कुबेरभवनाधिकम्॥ ३ ॥
At the bidding of lord Śiva, the emissary went to the city of the Asura which was superior to Indra’s Amarāvatī and Kubera’s Palace.
english translation
sarvezvarAjJayA dUto yayau tannagaraM ca saH ॥ mahendranagarotkRSTaM kuberabhavanAdhikam॥ 3 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptगत्वा ददर्श तन्मध्ये शंखचूडालयं वरम् ॥ राजितं द्वादशैर्द्वारैर्द्वारपालसमन्वितम् ॥४॥
Reaching there, he saw the excellent abode of śaṅkhacūḍa in the middle; it shone with its twelve entrance doors with gatekeepers in each.
english translation
gatvA dadarza tanmadhye zaMkhacUDAlayaM varam ॥ rAjitaM dvAdazairdvArairdvArapAlasamanvitam ॥4॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस दृष्ट्वा पुष्पदन्तस्तु वरं द्वारं ददर्श सः॥ कथयामास वृत्तांतं द्वारपालाय निर्भयः ॥ ५॥
Puspadanta (Puṣpadanta?) saw the main excellent entrance. Fearlessly he informed the gatekeeper.

sa dRSTvA puSpadantastu varaM dvAraM dadarza saH॥ kathayAmAsa vRttAMtaM dvArapAlAya nirbhayaH ॥ 5॥
