सर्वेप्याक्षारयिष्यंति तव तातं च मामपि ॥ मातुश्चरित्रं तनयो धत्ते दुर्भाषणैरिति ॥ ३१ ॥
People will curse and cavil at your father and me saying such evil words as “The son has adopted the wickedness of the mother.”
english translation
sarvepyAkSArayiSyaMti tava tAtaM ca mAmapi ॥ mAtuzcaritraM tanayo dhatte durbhASaNairiti ॥ 31 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपितापि ते न पापीयाञ्छ्रुतिस्मृतिपथानुगः ॥ तदंघ्रिलीनमनसो मम साक्षी महेश्वरः ॥३२॥
Your father has never been a sinner. He strictly follows the path of the Vedas and Smṛtis. Lord Śiva is my witness for the purity of my mind that is riveted to his feet.
english translation
pitApi te na pApIyAJchrutismRtipathAnugaH ॥ tadaMghrilInamanaso mama sAkSI mahezvaraH ॥32॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptन चर्तुस्नातययापीह मुखं दुष्टस्य वीक्षितम्॥ अहो बलीयान्स विधिर्येन जातो भवानिति ॥ ३३ ॥
I have not seen the face of any wicked man after my menstrual bath. Powerful indeed is Fate whence a boy like you is born of my womb!”
english translation
na cartusnAtayayApIha mukhaM duSTasya vIkSitam॥ aho balIyAnsa vidhiryena jAto bhavAniti ॥ 33 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptप्रतिक्षणं जनन्येति शिक्ष्यमाणोतिदुर्मतिः ॥। न तत्याज च तद्धर्मं दुर्बोधो व्यसनी यतः ॥ ३४ ॥
Although constantly advised thus by his mother, the wicked boy did not abandon his evil ways. For, an idiot indulging in vice is beyond redemption.
english translation
pratikSaNaM jananyeti zikSyamANotidurmatiH ॥। na tatyAja ca taddharmaM durbodho vyasanI yataH ॥ 34 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमृगयामद्यपैशुन्यानृतचौर्यदुरोदरैः ॥ स वारदारैर्व्यसनैरेभिः कोऽत्र न खंडितः ॥ ३५ ॥।
Who is he that is not broken up by the evil influences of hunting, wine, slander, untruth, theft, gambling and prostitutes?
english translation
mRgayAmadyapaizunyAnRtacauryadurodaraiH ॥ sa vAradArairvyasanairebhiH ko'tra na khaMDitaH ॥ 35 ॥।
