गच्छन्स दानवेन्द्रस्तु तेषां सेवनकुर्वताम् ॥ विरेजे शशिवद्भानां ग्रहाणां ग्रहराडिव ॥ ११ ॥
The leader of the Dānavas going in the midst of his attendants shone as the moon in the midst of stars or as the sun in the midst of planets.

आगच्छंतं शङ्खचूडमाकर्ण्याखण्डलस्स्वराट् ॥ निखिलैरमरैस्सार्द्धं तेन योद्धुं समुद्यतः ॥ १२ ॥
On hearing that Śaṅkhacūḍa was coming, Indra the king of heaven, accompanied by the gods made preparations for a fight.

तदाऽसुरैस्सुराणां च संग्रामस्तुमुलो ह्यभूत् ॥ वीराऽऽनन्दकरः क्लीबभयदो रोमहर्षणः ॥ १३ ॥
Then a tremendous fight ensued between the Asuras and the gods delighting the heroic and terrifying the cowardly. It caused hairs to stand on end.

महान्कोलाहलो जातो वीराणां गर्जतां रणे ॥ वाद्यध्वनिस्तथा चाऽऽसीत्तत्र वीरत्ववर्द्धिनी ॥ १४ ॥
When the warriors roared in the battle, there was a tumultuous noise. The sound of drums and other instruments encouraged the warriors.

देवाः प्रकुप्य युयुधुरसुरैर्बलवत्तराः ॥ पराजयं च संप्रापुरसुरा दुद्रुवुर्भयात् ॥ १५॥
The powerful gods fought with the Asuras ferociously and defeated them. They were afraid and fled.
