तदाकर्ण्य विधातापि वैकुंठं तैर्ययौ सह ॥ तदेव विज्ञापयितुं निखिलेन हि विष्णवे ॥ १६ ॥
On hearing that, Brahmā accompanied them to Vaikuṇṭha in order to tell the same to Viṣṇu in its entirety.
english translation
तत्र गत्वा त्रिलोकेशं विष्णुं रक्षाकरं परम् ॥ प्रणम्य तुष्टुवुस्सर्वे करौ बद्ध्वा विनम्रकाः ॥ १७ ॥
After going there they stood humbly joining their palms in reverence. After bowing to him they eulogised Viṣṇu the lord of the three worlds, the great saviour.
english translation
देवा ऊचुः ॥ देवदेव न जानीमो जातं किं कारणं त्विह ॥ संतप्तास्स कला जातास्तेजसा केन तद्वद ॥ १८ ॥
The gods said: O lord of gods we do not know how this happened to cause this. Please tell us. By what refulgence have all of us been scorched?
english translation
तप्तात्मनां त्वमविता दीनबंधोऽनुजीविनाम् ॥ रक्षरक्ष रमानाथ शरण्यश्शरणागतान् ॥१९॥
O friend of the distressed, you are the protector of the distressed and dispirited servants. Save, O lord of Lakṣrnī who are worthy of being sought refuge by us.
english translation
॥ सनत्कुमार उवाच ॥ इति श्रुत्वा वचो विष्णुर्ब्रह्मादीनां दिवौकसाम् ॥ उवाच विहसन्प्रेम्णा शरणागतवत्सलः ॥ 2-5-27-२० ॥
Sanatkumāra said: On hearing these words of Brahmā and other gods, Viṣṇu who is favourably disposed to those who seek refuge, said laughingly and lovingly.
